This course introduces public officials, IT specialists ,and students in general to the field of e-Government. It starts by creating the link between Public Administration and ICT while highlighting the transformative impact of IT in the last two decades.
The course provides participants with a clear understanding of the overall scope of e-Government. It explains why e-Government is not only about IT, but it has legislative, technological, administrative, and political value dimensions and that careful consideration of all those dimensions is critical to the success of e-Government programs. Moreover ,the participants will be introduced to some leading e-Government frameworks and will have a clear picture of what makes a successful start of e-Government initiatives.
Finally participants will touch on challenges in the way of implementing e-Government initiatives and learn about effective techniques to overcome key challenges.
